What is it?
Our odditorium is a collection of over 500 unusual artifacts from all over the world, representing the places, people and oddities that fascinated Robert Ripley during his extensive travels.
Would you recommend the odditorium for children?
Our bizarre collection of the unbelievable and odd intrigues guests of all ages. The artifacts and exhibits are presented in a way that is fun, fascinating and awe-inspiring for everyone. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Do you offer guided tours?
Our fascinating collection is designed to allow each guest to explore at her/his own pace. Typically guided tours only point out a few items and we wouldn't want to miss pointing out something you'd really enjoy. For groups of 15 or more we offer wonderful scavenger hunt programs. When planning a private event at Ripley's be sure to ask about adding a VIP tour or featured performer.
How much time should I plan to spend at the odditorium?
Most guests will spend between an hour and a half to two hours exploring the strange, bizarre and unique items in our collection. As with any attraction, your personal tastes will determine how long it takes. If you plan to investigate every item and read every caption, you'll be here a bit longer; if you plan to just see the sights and only examine a few items, you will find that an hour and a half is sufficient.
Is photography allowed?
We love when our guests take photos of themselves while visiting us. To make sure that each guest has the same wonderful experience, we ask that you bring no tripods or additional lighting equipment.
Is the odditorium wheelchair accessible?
Ripley's Times Square is handicapped accessible. Wheelchairs are available upon request at the admission desk on a first-come, first-served basis.
Do you allow strollers into the odditorium?
Yes.
Is food and drink allowed in the odditorium?
A number of our exhibits are priceless and simply cannot be replaced if damaged. Therefore, to be sure that we preserve the collection for future visitors, we do not allow any outside food, bubble gum or beverages.
Does the odditorium have a gift store?
Yes. Our magnificent store features items that range from the bizarre to the unbelievable and everything in between. The Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Shop is the perfect place to find something for everyone – comfortable t-shirts, bizarre collectibles, unique jewelry, crazy candy and toys that will engage the imagination. Our products change regularly and we invite you to visit often. The gift store may be accessed by the public as well as those who’ve visited our odditorium.
Is this the same as all the other Ripley's?
Ripley's personal treasures can be seen in Believe It or Not! Odditorium around the world. Each odditorium is unique in its collection of oddities and in their presentation. No Ripley's Believe It or Not! Odditorium would be complete without the "old favorites" however - the incredible people whose stories Ripley gathered on his journeys around the globe. These strange people are brought back to life in detailed wax figures.
Does Ripley's donate tickets to charity?
Ripley's Believe It or Not! Times Square has a longstanding history of strong community involvement. Each year, we provide hundreds of complimentary tickets to legitimate organizations in our area for use in their fundraising efforts. To submit your request, please send a formal request letter on organizational letterhead. To be considered, the letter must include the organization’s name, address, phone & fax numbers as well as primary contact with his/her email address and direct number. Along with your letter you must submit a copy of your organization’s tax exempt certificate. Requests may take 4-6 weeks to process.
