Times Square visitors have been challenged by the same high-tech laser technology famously demonstrated by blockbuster Hollywood stars in films including Entrapment, Mission Impossible, and Ocean’s 12. Ripley’s Impossible LaseRace™, which officially opened this past summer at Ripley's Times Square is the only LaseRace in New York City and tests the guile and agility of New Yorkers as they duck, shimmy, pivot, and crawl through a maze of brilliant red laser beams in an effort to achieve the best possible time. Touch a laser, and time is added onto your score.
“Catherine Zeta Jones made this look easy in Entrapment, but in real life it’s a challenge,” said Ripley’s Times Square General Manager Michael Hirsch. “People love it; the response to the LaseRace during our trial period was overwhelming. But I have to warn you, it’s addictive!”
Ripley’s Impossible LaseRace ™ is available as a $4.99 add on to the Ripley’s general admission price, which gives the participant two attempts to disable the lasers and protect the world from a debilitating computer virus. Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Times Square, at 234 w. 42nd street in Manhattan, is open from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 A.M. (Tickets are sold until midnight.)
