Ripley’s Times Square announces 2010 Summer Internship Program
Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Times Square, New York City’s most unusual attraction, announced today the launch of an internship program for the 2010 summer tourism season. Internships are available to college students who have completed at least one year of school and are for school credit. Qualified applicants will not be playing with a full deck.“Listen, if you want to go to an office and file envelopes all day, well I’d say to have a great summer,” says Michael Hirsch, general manager, Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Times Square. “However, if the idea of earning college credit in the world’s best tourism market while being surrounded by shrunken heads, a lock of Elvis’s hair, and 500 other amazing artifacts, look no further.”
Internship candidates will be exposed to all aspects of a major attraction, including but not limited to guest satisfaction, customer service, sales and marketing, and other business operations.
The right candidates will:
• Have an outgoing personality
• Like to have fun
• Be a little weird
• Like to have fun
• Have outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Like to have fun
• Have a great work ethic and infectious, positive attitude
Responsibilities will include:
• Having fun
• Interact with clients and welcome groups upon arrival
• Assist with guest flow of the museum
• Having fun
• Assist sales and marketing team in all facets of department’s operations
• Having fun
